Real estate timing for maximum profits

The Best Investment Advice Ever

How to profit from market declines

After the 1929 stock market crash, most investors lost everything.  Stocks fell by 89% and it wasn’t until the late 1930’s that the U.S. economy eventually recovered.

A few, however, survived . . . and some even prospered.  Legendary stock market investor and advisor to U.S. Presidents, Roger Babson was one of those who profited.

 How did he do it?

 He sold before the crash.

In the March 1, 1934 issue of Forbes, when the U.S. economy was in the depths of the greatest depression ever, Roger Babson was interviewed and made a few comments about how to become a successful investor.

 Here’s what he said.

“When I meet an investor and he starts talking about stocks, I can usually spot from his first word whether he is a financial success or a chronic failure . . .

“If he begins:  When should I buy stocks?’ my first thought is that he is a potential profit-maker.”

“If he begins” ‘What stocks should I buy?’ I know that I am talking with a probable loss-taker . . .”

“The profitable investors are always thinking of WHEN to buy or sell.”

“The losing, red-ink investors are always thinking of WHAT to buy or sell.”

Babson went on to say the market is always going to have its ups and downs.  He believed – however -- the best time to make money investing is during economic recessions and depressions.  But to do that . . . an investor needs to have cash to take advantage of the bargains.

This need for cash during bad times underscores the point that investors need to know when to sell before the bad times begin.

Roger Babson was known for another achievement.  He wrote one of the first financial market letters in the United States.  He always stressed the importance of timing for making money.

Today, there are hundreds of stock market newsletters that tell investors when to buy and sell. The Real Estate Timing Report – however -- is the first – and only – market timing newsletter that tells investors (and homeowners) when to buy -- and sell -- San Diego real estate to give them the greatest returns.

Who says only stock market investors can have this kind of advantage?
